Crowns, Bridges & Dentures

Prosthodontic care that restores damaged and missing teeth, from a single crown to full-mouth rehabilitation.

Overview

Prosthodontics is the specialty of restoring and replacing teeth. It covers everything from a single crown on a cracked tooth to rebuilding a whole mouth worn down over many years.

Our consultant prosthodontist plans how your teeth should look and how they should bite together, so the restoration feels right as well as looking right.

Common questions about crowns, bridges & dentures

What is the difference between a bridge and an implant?

A bridge replaces a missing tooth by attaching it to the teeth on either side, which usually need to be crowned. An implant replaces the tooth root itself and does not rely on neighbouring teeth. Each has its place, and we will explain which suits you.

How long does a crown last?

Crowns can last many years with good care, but none lasts forever. Grinding, decay at the edges and gum health all affect how long they last.

Will a denture look natural?

Modern dentures are made to suit your face, and the shade and shape of the teeth are chosen with you. It takes a little time to get used to wearing one.
